(NZQA National Certificate in Business Level 4) - Christine was the most effective and inspirational tutor/coach that I have experienced in terms of management & leadership training or study (and I have attended a number of similar courses over the years!).
Christine shared her wealth of experience, professional approach and expertise to enable our team to learn from 'real' situations while working through the course content. This course also provided the opportunity for our team of service managers, most of whom were new to the organisation, to develop a close and supportive working relationship which continued after the course was completed.
The modules (and practical work) on time management, goal setting and managing conflict stood out for me as having the greatest impact on my own performance. By using real time examples from my workplace I was able to see the direct benefit of implementing the tools or learnings. The ultimate success was the use of goal setting and time management strategies by my team to successfully manage a major public relations event. I have shared the time management work prioritisation modules with members of my team with great effect, and also recommended that they be adapted by the organisation as a whole.
Although the course required some additional work and reading, I thoroughly enjoyed this journey, and much of this was due to Christine's ability to teach the course content in a way that is stimulating, inspirational and 'real'. Christine's ability to remain unbiased and to present different perspectives when problem solving encouraged and sometimes challenged our thinking and attitudes! The need to regularly discuss our course work with my manager meant that she too was kept up to date with our learnings and was sometimes keen to also adapt some of the strategies or tools from the course. I would thoroughly recommend the programme.
